An AED (Automated External Defibrillator) machine is used to treat individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest by delivering a controlled electric shock to the heart. It analyzes the heart’s rhythm and, if necessary, delivers a defibrillation shock to restore a normal heart rhythm. AEDs are designed to be user-friendly and can be operated by laypeople with minimal training.
